The seventh edition of the Mallorca BJJ & Yoga Festival has successfully concluded at the Gran Melia de Mar in Illetes, Calvià. Over the course of six days, more than 500 participants from twelve countries engaged in a unique blend of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, yoga, and meditation, highlighting the event”s focus on sport, wellness, and sustainability.
Running from October 22 to October 27, this year”s festival reinforced Mallorca”s reputation as a premier international destination for sports tourism and wellness. The event featured a variety of activities, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) sessions, yoga practices, and meditation workshops, all set against the backdrop of Mallorca”s stunning natural environment.
Joe Notebaert, the founder and director of the festival, emphasized the “unique energy” that characterizes the event each year. He noted that people from around the globe come together to share experiences of learning, connection, and wellness in a respectful community atmosphere.
The festival welcomed world-renowned instructors, including Nicky Ryan, Mauricio Gomes, and Clark Gracie for BJJ sessions, alongside esteemed yoga and meditation teachers such as Mary Bruce, Jelena Lieberberg, and Carman Jaguar. Nicky Ryan”s participation was particularly noteworthy as it marked his debut at the festival. He expressed his admiration for the location and the overall atmosphere, stating he was “impressed” and looking forward to future editions.
The favorable weather throughout the week allowed participants to enjoy outdoor practices, seaside workshops, and sessions focused on breath and movement, all aimed at harmonizing body and mind in a privileged setting.
