Three New Sainik Schools Open for Class 9 Admissions in 2026

Three new Sainik Schools have been established in India, expanding the network of these institutions dedicated to preparing students for careers in the armed forces. Applications for admission to Class 9 for the 2026 academic session are currently being accepted and will remain open until October 30, 2025. The entrance examination is scheduled for January 2026, though the precise date has yet to be announced.

The newly added schools are Sri SPK Public Senior Secondary School in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, Vadem Nagar Higher Secondary School in Vasco, Goa, and Yogeshwari Sainik School located in Ambajogai, Beed, Maharashtra. Sri SPK and Vadem Nagar are residential schools, while Yogeshwari is a day boarding institution.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the registration process for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) will conclude on October 30, 2025. Admissions are open for both Class 6 and Class 9 across all Sainik Schools nationwide. A total of 69 new schools will accept admissions for Class 6, while 19 approved Sainik Schools will also cater to Class 9 entrants.

Interested candidates can apply online at the NTA website, nta.nic.in, until 5 PM on October 30. A correction window for submitted applications will be available from November 2 to November 4, 2025.

The AISSEE will be conducted in English for Class 9 and in 13 languages for Class 6, featuring multiple-choice questions on OMR sheets. The Class 6 exam will cover 300 marks over 150 minutes, while the Class 9 examination will last 180 minutes.

The results of the entrance exam are anticipated within four to six weeks following the test, likely by February 2026.

The application fee is set at ₹850 for General, OBC (non-creamy layer), and children of defense personnel and ex-servicemen. For candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the fee is ₹700. Payment for the application must be completed by October 31, 2025.

To apply online, candidates should visit the NTA”s official site, click on the AISSEE 2026 registration link, register, fill in the required details, upload necessary documents, pay the fee, and submit the application. It is advisable to download and print the confirmation page for reference.

For further information, the CBSE has released the final datesheet for Class 10 and 12 exams, which will commence on February 17, 2026.
