The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has announced the appointment of Dr. Pei-Zen Chang as its new President, effective October 31, 2025. In his inaugural address, Dr. Chang highlighted the crucial role of innovation in driving Taiwan”s industrial development.
Dr. Chang emphasized that in the context of global changes and swift technological progress, ITRI will continue to be a trusted advisor for the government and a dependable technology ally for the industry. He outlined three main priorities for ITRI in the coming years:

Dr. Chang holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University and a Bachelor”s degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU). He is a recognized authority in technology policy and research and development management, having previously served in various significant roles, including Deputy Executive Secretary of the Executive Yuan”s Science and Technology Group and Executive Vice President of ITRI.
His research focuses on areas such as mechatronic systems, industrial sensing, and digital technologies. Under Dr. Chang”s leadership, ITRI aims to accelerate its mission of nurturing innovation and transforming Taiwan”s economic landscape.
