Nine Tons of Spoiled Meat Seized in Salamanca Town

In a recent operation, authorities in Salamanca seized approximately nine tons of spoiled meat from a facility located in the town of Montejo. This inspection was conducted by agents from the Service for the Protection of Nature (Seprona), in collaboration with veterinarians from the Junta de Castilla y León.

The discovery was made possible through citizen reports, which highlighted the foul odor emanating from the meat and the large number of flies in the area. The meat was found to be in an advanced state of decomposition, prompting immediate action from the authorities.

Following the seizure, the civil guards proceeded to remove the tainted meat for destruction. The owner of the facility is now facing potential sanctions for violating health regulations, as reported by the armed institute on their social media channels.

This incident underscores the importance of public vigilance and regulatory enforcement in maintaining food safety standards.
