The official statement from the Community of Madrid describes Allen as a filmmaker who has established one of the most original and acclaimed styles in cinema. This agreement underscores his recognition as one of the industry”s most notable figures.
This film will mark the third project directed by Allen that is set in Spain. The allocated funds will be distributed progressively, with the aim of using the resources to promote the film and secure its premiere at a prestigious international film festival.
Currently, the film has a provisional title, but no official synopsis has been released, nor has any cast been confirmed as of yet. However, based on the temporary name of the project, it suggests a strong connection to the city.
It is noteworthy that Allen”s previous works include films that featured Penélope Cruz, who won her only Oscar for her role in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” His last film in Spain came twelve years after, showcasing his continued interest in the country.
