Europe”s Largest Robotics Competition ROBOFEST 2025 to Feature Nearly 12,000 Robots

The campus of Bucharest Polytechnic University will host Europe”s most significant robot competition, ROBOFEST 2025, from October 31 to November 2. This fourth edition of the festival is expected to attract over 1,200 participants from 30 countries, featuring hundreds of teams of aspiring engineers.

At the heart of the event lies the Robochallenge, a globally recognized competition that draws robotics enthusiasts. The 14th iteration of this challenge will showcase nearly 1,200 robots competing in 20 diverse events. These challenges include autonomous sumo wrestling, speed races, intelligent maze navigation, and demonstrations by humanoid robots.

Participants can look forward to a variety of events such as Sumo Robotics, where robots engage in tactical battles, and the Line Follower and Line Follower Enhanced categories, featuring robots that navigate tracks at impressive speeds. Additionally, competitions will feature Maze and Humanoid Triathlon events, robot football, and demonstrations of humanoid robots capable of walking, dancing, and interacting with audiences. The festival will also include a Freestyle Showcase for creative projects that range from educational robots to industrial innovations.

According to a press release, ROBOFEST 2025 will not only highlight technical competitions but will also feature an exhibition area where technology companies will display their latest innovations. Attendees can expect live demonstrations of robotic arms and autonomous robots, along with educational activities aimed at the general public.

This event is organized by Bucharest Polytechnic University in collaboration with the Robochallenge team and supported by private sector partners. Entry for the public is free. Robochallenge is officially recognized as part of Romania”s national competition calendar by the Ministry of Education.
