Influencer Clers has taken to social media to confront the ongoing harassment and sexualization she experiences online. This response comes after a recent controversy regarding a decline in her video views, sparked by a user who shared a screenshot suggesting a change in her content. Unlike her usual practice of remaining silent on such matters, Clers decided to address the issue directly.
Initially, Clers refuted the claims about her views, stating, “I want to start with the part about views; that video is from about a month ago.” She then shifted her focus to the more serious topic of sexualization and harassment that influencers frequently face. Clers remarked, “What I receive is not an isolated incident; this is something that influencers confront increasingly often. For me, that tweet is just another day, but I have never commented on them because I don”t want to give them attention, and I know society won”t change.”
She emphasized the importance of acknowledging the severity of these issues and holding the perpetrators accountable. “I receive a significant number of messages like this, and many of them are misogynistic. They are not all mentally ill individuals; there are real culprits,” she cautioned.
Clers is aware that her message might not lead to profound changes, yet she felt compelled to speak out. “It is very sad,” she concluded, highlighting the emotional toll of enduring such experiences on a daily basis.
