Epic Games Store Faces Login Problems Amid Fortnite Server Downtime

Epic Games Store users experienced significant login difficulties on Saturday, with many reporting issues accessing their accounts. Outage tracker Downdetector indicated that over 4,000 users encountered problems with the platform during this time. This disruption coincided with scheduled server maintenance for Fortnite, occurring just before the launch of the highly anticipated crossover miniseries featuring The Simpsons.

Players took to social media and gaming forums to voice their frustrations. One user commented, “Bruh, Epic Games launcher isn”t working on PC.” Another reported, “Out of nowhere, when I go to install a game, I get “An unknown error occurred performing that action. Please try again.” Many others were more direct, expressing their dissatisfaction with one stating they were getting “real sick” of Epic”s issues. On X (formerly Twitter), several users echoed similar sentiments. “The entirety of Epic Games Store Launcher is down…” one user noted, while another added, “I can”t even log into my Epic Games Store right now.” A player shared, “It just completely kicked me out of my whole Epic Games account and I can”t log in,” and another humorously remarked that “Even the servers of Epic Games couldn”t handle the new Simpsons season.”

In response to these issues, Epic Games acknowledged the login problems on its official site. A message on the company”s status page stated, “We are aware that players are currently experiencing issues when trying to log in. Please visit the Epic Games Status here for the most up-to-date information.” Currently, the status page indicates a “partial service outage.”

The Fortnite server downtime began earlier in the day as part of planned maintenance following the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event. Epic Games confirmed on X that the downtime commenced at 11:30 AM ET on November 1, and it is expected to last about five hours, with servers anticipated to be back online by 4 PM ET. However, the ongoing issues with the Epic Games Store may result in further delays for users attempting to log in once Fortnite is operational again.
