Prime Minister Modi to Launch India”s First Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India”s inaugural Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 on November 3. This event represents a significant effort to enhance the country”s research and development ecosystem.

During the conclave, the Prime Minister will also unveil a substantial Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund, with an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore aimed at encouraging private sector-led research and development throughout India. According to a statement from the Prime Minister”s Office (PMO), ESTIC 2025 is intended to become a premier annual forum for advancements in science and technology.

The three-day event is anticipated to attract over 3,000 participants, including individuals from academia, research institutions, industry, and government, as well as Nobel laureates, prominent scientists, innovators, and policymakers. The conclave will showcase keynote speeches, panel discussions, technology demonstrations, and presentations that aim to facilitate collaboration among researchers, businesses, and emerging innovators.

The initiative seeks to establish a vibrant environment where innovative ideas can be transformed into practical applications, solidifying India”s standing as a global leader in the realms of science and technology. Discussions will focus on 11 critical thematic areas, encompassing advanced materials and manufacturing, artificial intelligence, bio-manufacturing, the blue economy, digital communications, semiconductors, emerging agricultural technologies, energy, environmental and climate issues, health and medical technologies, quantum science, and innovations in space.

With the introduction of the RDI Fund, the Indian government aims to usher in a new era characterized by innovation-driven growth and to establish India as a central hub for developing next-generation technologies.
