Catalyx Space, Inc., a company focused on space infrastructure and comprehensive solutions for orbital missions, has announced the completion of a seed funding round totaling $5.4 million. This funding, led by Outlander VC, exceeded expectations and follows the company”s earlier pre-seed funding of $1.7 million in January, which contributed to the successful launch test of its capsule within a six-month timeframe.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to commercialize its advanced re-entry architecture, enhance international operations, and expand its global customer acquisition capabilities. Other investors in this funding round included Arka Venture Labs, Lex Reddy, KDX Management LLC, Together Fund, Higher Life Ventures, Nivesha Ventures, Prana Tech Ventures, Bria, HF0 Residency, and Techstars.
“Space is not just the next frontier; it”s the next layer of infrastructure,” stated Paige Craig, founder and managing partner of Outlander VC. “Catalyx is making orbit as accessible and programmable as the cloud, a shift that will drive entirely new industries. We are proud to support a team that is building the backbone of this transformation.”
The story of Catalyx Space begins with its founder, Rifath Shaarook, who established the company in 2024 out of frustration with the lengthy development timelines and fragmented infrastructure within the space industry. Shaarook gained recognition at the age of 18 for designing KalamSat, which was hailed as the lightest satellite in the world and showcased innovative 3D printing engineering.
“Catalyx”s mission is to accelerate the commercialization of space by providing rapid, reliable, and affordable orbital access across industries, including defense, advanced manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals. This funding milestone brings us closer to realizing that future,” said Shaarook.
According to Fortune Business Insights, the global space infrastructure market was valued at $146 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $308 billion by 2032. Catalyx Space aims to meet this rising demand with a comprehensive solution for next-generation space applications.
