Prime Minister Modi to Launch INR 1 Lakh Crore RDI Fund on November 3

In a significant development for India”s research and development sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the INR 1 lakh crore Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund on November 3. This initiative aims to foster a research environment driven by the private sector.

The launch will take place during the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025, which is set to occur at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Over the course of the event, which runs from November 3 to 5, PM Modi will address a diverse audience comprising more than 3,000 participants, including representatives from academia, research institutions, industry, and government, alongside notable figures such as Nobel Laureates and leading scientists.

According to the Prime Minister”s Office (PMO), discussions at the conclave will revolve around 11 critical thematic areas. These include Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agricultural Technologies, Energy, Environment and Climate, Health and Medical Technologies, Quantum Science and Technology, and Space Technologies.

The ESTIC 2025 will feature a variety of activities including presentations, panel discussions, and technology showcases. This platform aims to enhance collaboration among researchers, industry leaders, and young innovators, thereby strengthening India”s overall science and technology framework.

Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, emphasized that the conclave serves as an opportunity for young innovators, startups, and researchers to present their groundbreaking solutions, seek mentorship, and connect with industry stakeholders.

Positioned as an outcome-focused forum, ESTIC 2025 intends to celebrate the contributions of various stakeholders while promoting collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, and funding organizations.

This initiative represents a major step forward in enhancing India”s research capacity and fostering a vibrant ecosystem for innovation.
