Oxford Instruments Launches witec360 Raman Microscope in Southeast Asia

Oxford Instruments has officially launched its new witec360 Raman microscope, equipped with the advanced Hexalight spectrometer, on November 3, 2025. This innovative system is set to redefine standards in confocal Raman imaging and analysis for research institutions and industries throughout Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region.

The witec360 builds upon the established legacy of the WITec alpha300 series, enhancing light transmission and automation while optimizing the confocal beam path from the laser to the detector. This microscope is available in both standard and inverted configurations, enabling accurate and rapid Raman imaging for various applications including materials science, life sciences, and semiconductor research.

At the core of this system lies the Hexalight spectrometer, featuring a next-generation design with proprietary lenses that provide outstanding optical throughput across a wavelength range of 350 to 1100 nm. Its innovative harmonic drive allows for precise positioning of up to six gratings, ensuring exceptional spectral resolution and versatility. The compact and configurable nature of Hexalight merges the sensitivity of the UHTS series with enhanced optical efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Dr. Benjamin Tordoff, General Manager of Raman Microscopy at Oxford Instruments, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “The witec360 with Hexalight represents a step forward in Raman microscopy. We are excited to bring this innovation to Singapore and Southeast Asia, empowering researchers to explore materials and biological systems with greater speed, accuracy, and experimental freedom.”

Sabrina Hakelberg, Product Manager for Raman Microscopy, emphasized the system”s adaptability: “With its modular architecture, the witec360 is ideal for multidisciplinary laboratories and core facilities. It allows scientists to configure their system to meet diverse research demands and stay at the forefront of discovery.”

Oxford Instruments is committed to strengthening its presence in Asia by providing dedicated regional technical and application support from its base in Singapore. This initiative aims to ensure that both research and industrial users can fully utilize the capabilities of the witec360 and Hexalight systems.
