JNCASR Bengaluru Seeks Applications for Research Associate Positions

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bengaluru is calling for applications for temporary positions of Research Associate and Research Associate-II. These roles are part of a project led by Prof. Tapas K Maji focused on the large-scale synthesis of metal-organic frameworks for water adsorption.

Interested candidates must submit their applications by October 25, 2025. The positions are funded under a project that aims to enhance the synthesis techniques for metal-organic frameworks, which are promising materials for various applications, including environmental sustainability.

The essential qualification for the Research Associate position includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Science or Materials Science and a minimum of five published research papers in journals indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI). Candidates are preferred to have experience in the design, synthesis, and characterization of metal-organic frameworks. The upper age limit for applicants is set at 35 years, and the remuneration package includes a monthly salary of Rs. 58,000 plus a 30% housing rent allowance.

Furthermore, applications are also being accepted for the Research Associate-II position. Applicants for this role should possess a Ph.D. and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience in Physical Science or Chemical Science, along with a minimum of five research papers in SCI journals. Desirable qualifications include expertise in electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, device fabrication, and experience with porous material synthesis and its applications in carbon dioxide reduction and water splitting. The remuneration for this position will be Rs. 61,000 plus a 30% housing rent allowance, adjusted based on experience.
