RTVE Cancels “Cuánto, cuánto, cuánto” After Two Episodes

RTVE has announced the cancellation of the program “Cuánto, cuánto, cuánto,” hosted by Eva Soriano and Aníbal Gómez, following just two airings. The decision comes after the show failed to attract a significant audience, particularly during prime time on Saturday nights.

According to reports from Poco Pasa TV, the program”s ratings were particularly disappointing when compared to competing offerings. For instance, the popular show “Bailando con las estrellas” achieved a rating of 13.4%, while “Cuánto, cuánto, cuánto” struggled to maintain viewer interest.

As a result of these ratings, RTVE plans to replace “Cuánto, cuánto, cuánto” with a film slot starting this Saturday. The move reflects a broader strategy to bolster the network”s viewership, which has shown improvement across various time slots. The decision to cancel the show highlights the network”s willingness to make tough choices in response to performance metrics.

In light of this cancellation, upcoming recordings scheduled for October 23 and 29 have been halted. Employees involved in the production have reportedly been informed of the program”s cancellation, signaling a prompt shift in RTVE“s programming strategy.

This decision underscores the competitive nature of television viewership in Spain, particularly as RTVE seeks to keep pace with rival networks such as Antena 3. With just ten days remaining in October, the difference in ratings between the two networks stands at a narrow 0.2%. It remains to be seen whether this programming change will significantly impact RTVE“s standing in the ongoing viewer ratings battle.
