Marius Borg, the son of Mette-Marit of Norway and stepson of Haakon, is currently undergoing treatment for addiction just months before his trial begins. His legal representatives confirmed this information during an interview with TV2.
Borg is set to face trial early next year concerning 32 allegations of sexual assault. If found guilty, he could face several years in prison. His attorneys, Ellen Holager and Petar Sekulic, have stated that the 28-year-old is actively working on his personal issues and striving for change.
In light of the approaching legal proceedings, the defense team provided insights into Borg”s situation, although they refrained from disclosing further details. In August 2024, Borg hinted at his intention to resume treatment, acknowledging that it was merely a matter of time before he did so. He remarked, “I have received treatment previously. Now I am going to resume this treatment and take it seriously.”
Previously, the wife of Crown Prince Haakon addressed the situation, emphasizing the importance of medical assistance they had received. She expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “We would not have been able to endure such a situation without that help.” Her comments, made a few months ago, reflected the family”s ongoing challenges.
As the trial date approaches, Borg”s primary concern is to be in the best possible state as he prepares to face the court.
