Hyderabad is rapidly gaining recognition as a crucial center for system design and innovation, according to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Speaking at the Bioinspired Frontiers 2025 International Conference focused on space economy, biomimicry, and extraterrestrial resources, Bhatti invited global research institutions, investors, and innovators to collaborate with the state of Telangana, promising a robust infrastructure and a conducive ecosystem under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
During his address, Bhatti described Hyderabad as a city where “the precision of science meets the poetry of imagination,” emphasizing its historical significance in shaping India”s scientific framework. He highlighted the establishment of renowned institutions such as the NRSC, DRDO labs, BDL, MIDHANI, and ECIL, which have been instrumental in developing the country”s aerospace, metallurgy, and electronics industries.
Bhatti pointed out that this legacy has spurred a new generation of innovators, exemplified by start-ups like Skyroot Aerospace and Dhruva Space, which demonstrate that cutting-edge systems can indeed be developed in Telangana. He also noted the emergence of numerous companies in fields such as robotics, materials science, and 3D printing, which are actively transforming India”s space economy in collaboration with leading institutions like IIT Hyderabad and IIIT Hyderabad, as well as T-Works.
Outlining the “Telangana Model of Innovation,” Bhatti explained how public institutions lay the groundwork, start-ups build upon that foundation, and universities cultivate talent. Industrial clusters in areas like Adibatla, e-City, Genome Valley, and the forthcoming Telangana Mobility Valley reflect the state”s emphasis on fostering innovation, manufacturing, and sustainability.
He remarked that “nature is the original engineer,” underlining Telangana”s commitment to integrating biomimetic design and green technologies into its development strategy. Bhatti expressed the ambition for the state to serve as a launchpad for India”s burgeoning space economy, asserting that Hyderabad acts as a bridge “between knowledge and discovery, between Earth and sky.” The conference was attended by various dignitaries, including Transco CMD D. Krishna Bhaskar and GEOPAQ CEO M. Abbas, among other officials.
