Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Praises HAL”s Achievements in Aviation

On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for its exceptional contributions to the aviation sector, particularly highlighting the development of a 4.5 generation fighter jet at its facility in Nashik. Speaking at an event for the inauguration of a community hall in Lucknow, Singh noted that he had just returned from the unveiling of the new jet two days earlier.

“Our HAL is doing remarkable work,” he stated, also mentioning the establishment of a new Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) lab in Lucknow aimed at enhancing research capabilities. He reminisced about the impressive performance of the BrahMos missiles during Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that production of these advanced missiles is now taking place in Lucknow.

During his address, Singh dedicated the community center to the public, fulfilling a promise to provide venues for local events. “I had promised that people would not need to run around looking for venues to organize events, and this community center is a result of that resolve,” he remarked. He further assured that similar facilities would be established across all Assembly segments within his constituency.

Singh expressed his vision to transform Lucknow into a world-class city that harmoniously blends tradition and modernity. He highlighted his efforts to improve local infrastructure, noting the addition of nearly 500 open gyms and 1,250 solar lights in the area. Furthermore, he mentioned the construction of 14 flyovers out of 25 approved since his election.

The Defence Minister also announced the approval for a study on the feasibility of a circular Metro rail service in Lucknow, reaffirming, “We are fully committed to the development of Lucknow.” He praised the city for its progress in cleanliness and sanitation, revealing that Lucknow was recently ranked among India”s top three cities in a cleanliness survey, being the top city in Uttar Pradesh and third overall in the country.

Singh congratulated the city”s Mayor for these achievements and paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who inspired him to dedicate his life to serving the public in Vajpayee”s constituency. He also shared his ongoing efforts to facilitate direct international flights from Lucknow, enhancing the city”s connectivity to global destinations. “I am still working on the issue,” he noted, revealing plans to expand aviation facilities in the region.
