The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur will host a two-day summit focused on enhancing collaboration between academia and industry, starting tomorrow. The event will feature Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, the Governor, as the chief guest. Notable attendees include Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, the Union Minister of State for Education, and several prominent figures from various institutions.
Among the distinguished guests are Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad; Dr. N.C. Murmu, Director of the Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI) in Durgapur; Surjeet Mishra, director-in-charge of ISP and DSP of SAIL; Dr. Mou Sen, Joint Director of MSME in the West Bengal Government; Professor Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur; and Ratan Kumar Kesh, COO of Bandhan Bank.
The summit is organized by the Institution”s Innovation Council of NIT Durgapur and promises a packed agenda. It will include interactive sessions led by experts, keynote addresses from distinguished guests, visionary talks, a signing ceremony for memorandums of understanding (MoUs), and recognition of alumni entrepreneurs. Additionally, there will be sessions tailored for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Professor Arvind Pandey, Director of NIT Durgapur, shared the summit”s objectives, which include fostering innovation through industry-academia collaboration, addressing industrial challenges with advanced research and technology, developing programs aligned with industry needs, promoting intellectual property rights (IPR) creation, and supporting entrepreneurship through mentorship, incubation, and funding.
