Woxsen University Receives Significant Government Grants for Research Initiatives

Woxsen University has recently been awarded substantial government grants from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Mandi. These grants underscore the university”s commitment to interdisciplinary research and innovation across various fields including technology, culture, and humanities.

Among the recipients, Dr Brundaban Mishra received ₹19 lakh to support his project aimed at preserving the tribal music and dance traditions of Western Odisha. This initiative highlights the importance of cultural heritage and its role in contemporary society.

Dr Rajdeep Routh was awarded ₹18 lakh to create frameworks for participatory urban cultural governance. His work is set to enhance community engagement and improve governance in urban cultural contexts.

Additionally, Dr Shyam Krishan Joshi secured ₹7.7 lakh for developing a supercapacitor-based hybrid bicycle, which aims to promote sustainable mobility solutions. This project aligns with global efforts to foster environmentally friendly transportation options.

Furthermore, Dr Satyanarayana Turangi received ₹3 lakh to organize a national seminar focusing on tribal rights and policies. This event is intended to facilitate dialogue on critical issues affecting tribal communities in India.
