Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) President Dr. Rizwan Taj has declared that if the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) paper is compromised, the provinces will bear the responsibility. This statement was made during an interview on March 15, 2024, as reported by 24NewsHD.
Dr. Taj emphasized that the PMDC is not involved in the admissions process and clarified that the responsibility for the MDCAT exam rests with the universities” Vice Chancellors. He stated that they are fully informed about their roles regarding the examination.
In addressing the upcoming MDCAT exam for 2025, Dr. Taj assured that students would have access to the best facilities. He also responded to recent protests held by students in front of the PMDC, labeling their concerns as unwarranted since the issues raised by the protesters have already been resolved. Dr. Taj mentioned that further written orders on the matter would be issued soon.
This announcement comes amid heightened scrutiny of the examination process and the integrity of educational assessments in Pakistan. The PMDC”s position underscores the ongoing challenges related to examination security and the management of academic admissions.
