Quantum Dynamics Enterprises Secures Patent for Innovative Propellant-less Propulsion System

Quantum Dynamics Enterprises, Inc. (QDE) announced on October 24, 2025, that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted U.S. Patent No. 12,424,887 for its Centrifugal Impulse Drive (CIDTM). This innovative technology is recognized as the first mechanical propulsion system capable of producing thrust without the use of propellants or exhaust gases.

The CIDTM signifies a significant advancement in space propulsion technology. It operates through a meticulously designed arrangement of rotating magnets and dynamic balancing systems that transform centrifugal energy into a consistent, directed thrust. Unlike conventional electric or chemical thrusters, the CIDTM does not require onboard propellant, allowing spacecraft to maneuver indefinitely while consuming minimal power.

“This patent solidifies Quantum Dynamics Enterprises” position at the forefront of mechanical propulsion,” stated Harry P. Sprain, CEO/CTO and inventor of the CIDTM. “It confirms years of dedicated research and testing, marking a pivotal step toward achieving sustainable, long-duration space operations.”

The CIDTM underwent independent testing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where engineers performed controlled experiments to assess dynamic motion, balance, and directional thrust. The results demonstrated consistent and repeatable measurements that aligned with theoretical expectations.

Additional validation was provided through advanced computational modeling by Dr. Shakeeb Bin Hasan, whose finite-element simulations mirrored the experimental findings and confirmed the system”s capacity to generate continuous mechanical thrust via controlled rotation and vector detuning.

The outcomes affirm that the CIDTM is the first mechanically driven propulsion system capable of producing thrust without any exhaust or reaction mass. This innovation could revolutionize orbital station-keeping, extend satellite lifespans, and enhance deep-space maneuverability.

“This is the inaugural propulsion technique that can be completely isolated from the space environment, needing no fuel and generating no emissions,” Sprain added. “It”s a transformative approach for sustainable, reusable spacecraft systems.”

In addition, Quantum Dynamics Enterprises is initiating international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) to safeguard this technology in key global markets, paving the way for future licensing and commercial collaborations.
