Governor Jishnu Dev Varma Launches Integrated Research Center at Kaveri University

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited Kaveri University and Kaveri Seeds Company on Friday, where he urged students to embrace innovation and research as catalysts for social change. During this visit, he officially inaugurated the Integrated Research Center and took the opportunity to investigate various advanced technologies in fields such as drones, robotics, and agricultural innovation.

Governor Varma emphasized the importance of utilizing knowledge to improve agricultural productivity and foster technological advancements through research. His tour included visits to several laboratories focusing on entomology, pathology, soil science, breeding, and physiology. The governor also viewed an exhibition that highlighted an array of technologies developed by students, including drone technology, robotics, 3D printing, and augmented and virtual reality models.

Following his exploration of the university”s vermicomposting programs, he launched the newly established Integrated Research Center. This facility includes specialized areas such as tissue culture, genomics, speed breeding, plant health laboratories, and a gene bank.

Chancellor GV Bhaskar Rao presented the institution”s initiatives and programs designed to facilitate holistic student development. Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao noted that collaborative research efforts with Kaveri Seeds Company are expected to significantly bolster the agricultural sector within the state.
