IMAGINE 2025 Conference to Focus on Radiography Advances in Mangaluru

Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Mangaluru, affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), is set to host the IMAGINE 2025 conference from October 31 to November 2 at the Dr. T.M.A. Pai International Convention Centre. This national event will bring together radiographers and imaging technologists from across India.

The conference will be inaugurated by Ifthikar Fareed, the chairman of the Allied Health Council at MAHE. Organized by the Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging at KMC in collaboration with the Society of Indian Radiographers (SIR), IMAGINE 2025 is expected to attract over 700 delegates, including radiographers, educators, and healthcare professionals.

Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the latest advancements in medical imaging and engage in discussions about patient-centric imaging methodologies. The agenda includes scientific sessions, hands-on workshops, oral presentations, poster exhibitions, and competitions for students, all emphasizing the critical role of imaging technologists in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

Key topics will cover emerging imaging technologies, radiation safety, the role of artificial intelligence and automation, and methods for optimizing workflows. Esteemed faculty members and industry experts from India and abroad will present on evolving trends in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and molecular imaging, according to Santosh P.V. Rai, the organizing secretary of the conference.

Beyond the academic focus, IMAGINE 2025 also highlights the social responsibilities of radiographers and technologists in healthcare. By promoting technical skills and a culture of safety for patients, the conference aims to enhance community health through improved diagnostic practices, early disease detection, and minimized radiation exposure.

A special emphasis will be placed on career development for emerging technologists, promoting gender equity within healthcare fields, and raising public awareness regarding imaging safety. The conference will also feature a cultural evening and a flea market highlighting local entrepreneurship, celebrating Mangaluru”s commitment to wellness, creativity, and community involvement.
