Punjab Schools Adjust Timings for Winter Session Starting Soon

The School Education Department of Punjab has announced changes to the school timings for public institutions across the province in light of the upcoming winter session. Starting with the new timetable, schools will commence at 8:45 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM.

The official notification detailing these changes is anticipated to be released on Monday, October 27, 2025. This adjustment comes after a previous notification was issued by the District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore on September 1, 2025, which set the earlier operational hours from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM on regular days, with early dismissals at 12:00 PM on Fridays.

Additionally, the earlier directive outlined the timings for the second shift, which was scheduled to start at 2:00 PM and end at 5:30 PM, with Friday classes beginning at 2:30 PM.

In a related matter, the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) previously issued instructions for schools that had been severely impacted by flooding. They mandated that all outsourced institutions ensure students do not sit on the floor and that classes be relocated to safer buildings if the current structures were unsafe.

PEF officials have committed to collaborating fully with district administrations to set up relief camps for students and communities affected by the floods. They emphasized that school licensees would be held accountable for protecting any valuable items stored within these relief facilities.
