In October 2025, Chennai will host the “One Walk One Hope” breast cancer awareness walkathon, aimed at promoting prevention and early detection of the disease. This event, organized by CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain) in collaboration with Rotary District 3234, marks its 16th annual occurrence.
The walkathon took place at Island Grounds in Chennai on a Sunday, with the event officially inaugurated by Ma. Subramanian, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare. Notable attendees included actress Sanchita Shetty, who was invited as a special guest, and Vinod Saraogi, the District Governor of RID 3234, alongside other rotary members.
This initiative seeks to raise awareness about the critical importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection, as well as the necessity of regular self-examinations. Attendees benefited from information stalls, health screenings, and complimentary health check-ups, making the event both informative and supportive.
