India Launches Women-Led STEMPlay Labs with Innovative Screen-Free Toys

STEMPlay Labs, an innovative education startup based in Chennai, has officially launched with a focus on enhancing learning through play, particularly in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Founded by Aditi Prasad, a prominent advocate for STEM education, the company aims to promote “Swadeshi 2.0,” providing locally made, screen-free STEM toys for children worldwide.

“At STEMPlay Labs, we believe the future is built through play,” Prasad stated. “Our products are “Born in India, Built for the World.” Each toy embodies the spirit of Swadeshi 2.0 by merging Indian creativity with global quality standards, fostering essential skills in children such as creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking—all without the use of screens.”

Innovative Products Launched

During its launch, STEMPlay Labs introduced two exciting products. The first, Wonder Briks, features patent-pending side-locking construction bricks that inspire open-ended STEM play and imagination. The second product, PictoMath, is a visual math card game designed to make learning numbers enjoyable for a wide age range, from 6 years to 99 years. Both of these products are crafted to evolve with the child, promoting sustainable, meaningful learning experiences throughout their development.

Empowerment Through Play

The mission of STEMPlay Labs is built around four primary pillars: fostering screen-free learning to enhance creativity and focus; encouraging hands-on exploration to inspire curiosity; developing skills like logical reasoning and collaboration; and combining indigenous design with a global perspective.

Tamil Nadu has emerged as a significant hub for women entrepreneurship, with almost half of the recognized startups founded or co-founded by women. STEMPlay Labs is a testament to this shift, representing a woman-led initiative that creates educational solutions relevant on a global scale.
