Entrix Expands to Spain and Portugal, Appoints Regional Manager for Growth

Entrix, a company specializing in intelligent energy storage solutions, has officially launched its operations in Spain and Portugal. This announcement was made on October 28, 2025, coinciding with the appointment of Juan Galiardo, the former General Director of Uber in Spain, as the Regional Manager for the Iberia region. Galiardo”s extensive experience and proven track record in technology project development and scaling are expected to drive Entrix”s growth in these markets.

With its entry into the Iberian market, Entrix aims to strengthen its role as a strategic technology partner for project developers, infrastructure funds, and utilities. These entities are increasingly seeking to hybridize renewable assets and enhance the performance of storage projects using artificial intelligence-based solutions.

The timing of Entrix”s expansion aligns with an unprecedented acceleration in the Spanish energy market, which currently boasts a total project portfolio of 36 gigawatts (GW). Notably, over 20 GW already have grid connection points, with more than 5 GW in the public information phase. Of this, 3.5 GW have been added in the last quarter alone. This growth presents a significant opportunity for energy storage systems, which are becoming essential for the photovoltaic industry due to their profitability potential and critical role in maintaining electrical system stability, thereby contributing to the country”s decarbonization goals.

Entrix currently manages over 2.5 GW and 7.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) across 52 assets in countries such as Germany, where it has pioneered battery optimization techniques, as well as in Poland and Italy. The company has now established its presence in Spain and Portugal with offices in cities including Munich, Warsaw, Milano, and Madrid.

As Juan Galiardo stated, “Energy storage has become the missing piece to ensure the competitiveness of renewables. Our AI-based technology enables real-time optimization of flexible asset operations, whether they are batteries or hybrid projects, maximizing their profitability in wholesale and ancillary service markets.”

Entrix has created an AI-driven algorithm designed to optimize the operational efficiency of flexible assets in real-time, offering a comprehensive service model that involves client collaboration from the earliest project phases. This includes strategic advice on aspects such as hybridization types, asset sizing, and warranty parameters, all aimed at maximizing profitability from the outset.

The company operates with both standalone batteries and hybrid renewable assets in Europe. Demonstrating its commitment to the sector, Entrix is a member of key associations within the Spanish energy ecosystem, including UNEF (Spanish Photovoltaic Union) and AEPIBAL (Spanish Association of Batteries and Energy Storage).
