AEMET Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Across Spain This Weekend

The Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) has issued a warning for significant rainfall that is expected to impact much of Spain this weekend, particularly on Sunday, October 19. The forecast indicates that unstable weather will be prevalent, with heavy precipitation predominantly in the northwest region of the country.

According to AEMET, the day will be characterized by persistent rain, especially affecting communities in the northwest. Additionally, fog banks are anticipated in the eastern third of the peninsula, along with some mist in the northwest.

Regions such as Galicia are expected to experience the most severe weather, as winds from the east are set to dominate conditions in the Alboran Sea, while there will be intervals of high intensity in the Strait of Gibraltar. Wind conditions are likely to shift throughout the day, with varied intensities in the middle and high-altitude areas.

This weather pattern may result in a marked change from the pleasant temperatures typically experienced post the DANA “Alice” weather system, as indicated by AEMET. The agency emphasizes the need for residents to stay informed and prepared for adverse weather conditions this weekend.
