The film industry mourns the loss of Tchéky Karyo, a talented French actor who died at the age of 72 due to cancer. The sad news broke over the weekend, with Karyo”s wife, Valérie Keruzoré, and his children expressing their deep sorrow in a statement released by his agent.
Born in Turkey in 1953, Karyo began his acting career with a role in a French film. He steadily built his career, eventually landing significant parts in Hollywood classics like GoldenEye and The Patriot. Karyo gained international acclaim for his portrayal of Russian Defense Minister Dmitri Mishkin in the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye.
Before achieving widespread recognition, Karyo earned critical praise for his role in a police thriller that showcased his range as an actor. Over the next five decades, he featured in numerous popular French films, as well as productions that charmed American audiences.
