CPHI Frankfurt, one of the largest events in the pharmaceutical sector, is set to take place from October 28 to 30, 2025. This year marks the 36th anniversary of the conference, which anticipates the participation of more than 62,000 professionals from the bio/pharmaceutical industry. The three-day event will showcase over 2,400 exhibitors and feature six content theaters, alongside expanded exhibitor zones that reflect the industry”s diversification into areas like bioproduction, finished dosage formulation, drug delivery, and packaging.
In a recent discussion, Tara Dougal, the Event Director for Pharma at Informa Markets, shared insights about what attendees can expect this year. Dougal, who has been with Informa for a decade, expressed her excitement for her 10th CPHI event, having transitioned from the content director role to event director earlier this year.
Dougal highlighted that this year”s CPHI Frankfurt will be the largest yet, with an impressive lineup that includes six content theaters addressing the entire supply chain. Attendees will have the chance to gain knowledge from thought leaders discussing market trends, ranging from ingredients and formulation to packaging and drug delivery. She encouraged participants to explore the agenda and bookmark sessions of interest.
In addition to the educational opportunities, a new leadership summit will be held on the morning of the first day, accessible to leader pass holders and above. This summit will feature C-suite executives from major pharmaceutical companies discussing the industry”s landscape, including geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges and opportunities encountered this year. The event will also include an awards ceremony on the first evening, celebrating achievements across 14 categories and providing an excellent networking opportunity for all attendees.
Dougal emphasized the event”s core aim of fostering partnerships throughout the supply chain, noting that the challenges of the past year have made networking and relationship renewal more crucial than ever. She hopes attendees will leave the event feeling connected and enriched by new and existing partnerships, reinforcing CPHI”s role as a vital annual gathering for the pharmaceutical community.
Frankfurt”s selection as the host city is strategic, according to Dougal. The city has long been associated with CPHI due to its central location, making it accessible for attendees and exhibitors from over 166 countries. Frankfurt Messe, the venue for the event, has a well-established partnership with Informa and offers excellent facilities and the capacity for growth, aligning with the event”s expansion since its inception 36 years ago. Furthermore, Germany”s robust life sciences industry, including numerous biotech and pharmaceutical firms in Frankfurt, adds to the event”s significance.
For attendees, Dougal offered practical advice: plan ahead to make the most of the extensive offerings at the show. Comfortable footwear is recommended due to the volume of walking required. She encourages participants to engage in various activities beyond the show floor, including networking events and happy hours on the first two days, which are open to all attendees and provide further opportunities to connect.
