Authorities in Spain have confiscated approximately 9,000 kilograms of spoiled meat from a facility located in the municipality of Montejo, Salamanca. This operation was carried out by agents from the Seprona (Nature Protection Service) of the Civil Guard in Salamanca, in collaboration with veterinarians from the Junta de Castilla y León.
The inspection, conducted on October 30, 2025, was initiated following reports from concerned citizens regarding the foul odor emanating from the facility, which attracted a significant number of flies. The discovery of the decaying meat has raised serious health concerns.
Following the seizure, the agents proceeded to remove the contaminated meat for proper destruction. The owner of the facility is now facing potential sanctions for violating health regulations.
