The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 took place today, with a reported 140,125 candidates participating throughout Pakistan and at an international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to 24NewsHD.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) confirmed the participation figures and announced measures to ensure exam integrity, including the installation of jammers to prevent unauthorized electronic device usage at exam centers. Additionally, a separate waiting area for parents was established at these locations.
Universities provided candidates with bubble sheets that included carbon copies for record-keeping. Results of the test are expected to be published within a week of the exam date, and a comprehensive analytical report is required to be submitted within ten days post-results. Official answers will be made available on the PMDC”s website immediately after the exam concludes.
To enhance accessibility, a re-examination option will be offered within three days following the initial results. The responsibility for managing admissions will fall upon provincial authorities and the universities themselves, with all admissions required to be finalized by February 28, 2026. The PMDC will not be involved in the admissions process, and universities have been instructed to adhere strictly to the guidelines provided.
In Karachi alone, approximately 33,000 students participated in the MDCAT. Dr. Sharjeel, the Central Incharge, oversaw the de-sealing of the exam papers at the Dow Campus. The examination was also conducted in Lahore, where centers were set up in areas including Township, Gulberg, and Model Town. Due to the MDCAT, Section 144 was imposed in Lahore to maintain order.
In Larkana, over 3,000 candidates took the MDCAT at the IBA Center in Sukkur, which is a gateway for admissions to the Benazir Bhutto Medical College. Furthermore, 1,153 students appeared for the examination at Khawaja Farid University in Rahim Yar Khan, which also saw the implementation of Section 144 due to the test.
