Three Arrested Following Gunfight in Salamanca Neighborhood

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the El Carmen neighborhood of Salamanca. The arrests were made by the National Police following a violent altercation in the early hours of October 6.

According to police reports, the confrontation began after a dispute between a group of people in the street and three men who arrived at the scene in a van. During the altercation, one of the assailants retrieved a shotgun from the vehicle and fired two shots at another individual present. Simultaneously, another attacker struck a woman with a blunt object, while a third man brandished a knife and threatened the victims.

The assailants fled the scene, abandoning their vehicle. When police arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and leg, as well as a woman with a serious facial injury.

The male victim reported that his injuries were inflicted by a man with a hunting shotgun, while the woman was injured by a blow from a blunt object wielded by another assailant. Both victims received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.

During a search of the area, officers discovered a plastic wad from a 12-gauge shotgun shell, commonly used in hunting, along with the knife. The van used by the attackers was also located and subsequently impounded.

Investigative efforts allowed police to identify and apprehend the suspects on the following day. After their arrest, they were taken to police headquarters and later presented to the local magistrate”s court in Salamanca.
