The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has reported receiving a total of 750 applications for the position of chairman. As per a report by 24NewsHD TV channel, only those candidates who are shortlisted will proceed to the interview stage.
Currently, the process to scrutinize the eligibility of candidates is ongoing, and interviews are set to begin next week. The appointment of the HEC chairman has faced delays due to a technical issue with the job portal managed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
An advertisement seeking candidates for the chairman role was initially published in July. The scrutiny process aims to ensure that only qualified individuals are considered for this significant position within the commission.
