Absolut Vodka has launched a limited edition bottle honoring the influential pop artist Keith Haring, known for his vibrant works that emerged in the 1980s. This new release features Haring”s iconic dancing figures, which symbolize unity and collective joy, rendered in bright colors.
The bottle design pays tribute to a piece Haring created for Absolut in 1986, making this a significant revival of his artistic collaboration with the brand. The figures are intricately engraved on the bottle”s glass, while Haring”s signature adorns the shrink wrap, along with a hand-crafted version of the Absolut medallion.
According to Alejandro Ayala, the brand manager, Haring”s work and message resonate today more than ever, reflecting the ongoing relevance of his art in contemporary society. His connection to the art world was notably enhanced when he became the second artist to reinterpret the iconic Absolut bottle, following a recommendation from his friend Andy Warhol.
This limited edition release not only commemorates Haring”s artistic legacy but also reinforces Absolut Vodka”s commitment to engaging with the art community and celebrating significant cultural figures. Four decades after Haring”s initial collaboration, this new bottle serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of his work on both art and popular culture.
