Dr. S. Jyothilakshmi, affiliated with the Centre for Inclusive Growth and Development in Mysore, has been granted a Research Fellowship by the Karnataka Arebhashe Literature and Culture Academy. This announcement was made on October 26 during an event in Mysuru.
According to Vinayakanagar, the Director of the National Centre for Inclusive Growth and Development Research Trust, Dr. Jyothilakshmi is set to undertake a research project titled “Struggles and Challenges of First Generation Employed Arebhashe Speaking Women.” This study will focus on the experiences of women from the Arebhashe-speaking community.
The research will be conducted across several regions, including Mysuru, Kodagu, and Dakshina Kannada districts. Its primary goal is to document the social, cultural, and familial obstacles faced by these first-generation employed women. Additionally, the study aims to explore the positive influences these women have on the younger generation.
Dr. Jyothilakshmi holds a PhD in Economics from KSOU, which she completed in 2024, under the mentorship of Dr. Shivakumaraswamy.
