Experts Advocate for Inclusive Science Communication at National Workshop

A national workshop titled “Communicate to Connect: Science for All” commenced at the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT) in Palampur on Wednesday. This event was organized in partnership with the National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) based in New Delhi.

The workshop aims to enhance science outreach strategies and promote inclusive communication, gathering a diverse group of scientists, communicators, and innovators to discuss effective methods for disseminating scientific knowledge throughout India.

On the first day, notable figures delivered addresses emphasizing the significance of the event. Dr Geetha Vani Rayasam, Director of CSIR-NIScPR, highlighted the necessity of informing students and various stakeholders about the extensive scientific research conducted across the nation. She particularly acknowledged the contributions of researchers from remote areas like Palampur.

Chandra Bhushan Singh, Chief Scientist and Head of the Popular Science Division at CSIR-NIScPR, pointed out that the workshop”s primary objective is to foster a collaborative community focused on science communication.
