Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed state officials to ensure that no student misses out on benefits from the pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes. During a review meeting focused on scholarships for students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Backwards Classes (BC), Saini emphasized the importance of timely communication regarding these financial aid programs.
The chief minister has mandated that the resident commissioner at Haryana Bhawan collaborate with relevant Central ministries to gather comprehensive information about their scholarship initiatives. This information is to be regularly communicated to state government departments, as per an official statement.
To further support students, Saini urged school and college principals to actively inform students about available scholarship opportunities. He stressed that it is crucial for students to complete their scholarship applications online without any complications.
Highlighting the government”s responsibility, Saini noted that no deserving student should have to abandon their education due to financial difficulties. He called for the installation of information boards in every educational institution to clearly display scholarship details, facilitating a smoother application process for students.
In addition, Saini has directed officials to conduct regular monitoring of these scholarship schemes and prepare periodic review reports. This oversight will help ensure that the state government”s 40 percent share of the scholarship funds is promptly credited to students” bank accounts, while the remaining 60 percent from the Central government is transferred through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The chief minister also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi“s emphasis on skill development for the youth, aiming to foster self-reliance and maximize their potential. The Haryana government plans to enhance skill development programs, particularly for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds among the SC and BC communities.
Saini articulated that the government”s aim is not only to provide quality education to these students but also to ensure they are employable and can contribute significantly to society.
