Inaugural Ceremony of ICSTIP-2025 Held at Assam down town University

The inaugural ceremony of the International Conference on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Policy for Global Health and Sustainability (ICSTIP-2025) took place today at Assam down town University (AdtU). This significant event, organized by the Faculty of Science, aims to advance innovation and sustainable development.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana, performed by Dr. Radali Duarah, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. Following this, Dr. Manash Pratim Sarma, President of ICSTIP-2025, delivered a welcoming address, articulating the conference”s objectives and the vital role of interdisciplinary collaboration in achieving both national and global developmental goals.

Distinguished guests were recognized for their substantial contributions to academia and research. The Inaugural Address was given by Prof. N.C. Talukdar, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of AdtU, who reiterated the university”s dedication to nurturing a culture of research and innovation.

The event also included the formal release of the Souvenir and Abstract Book for ICSTIP-2025, which showcases a diverse array of research papers and innovative ideas slated for presentation during the conference. The ceremony was honored by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah, Former Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Bujarbaruah emphasized the importance of collaborative research in fostering sustainable growth, especially within the North Eastern region of India.

A highlight of the inaugural session was the Keynote Address delivered by Dr. Suraksha S. Diwan, Scientist-F at the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Her presentation focused on “Harnessing Biotechnology for Sustainable Development in the North Eastern Region — India”s Emerging Growth Engine.” Dr. Diwan underscored biotechnology”s transformative potential in propelling economic growth, enhancing livelihoods, and ensuring environmental sustainability within the region.

The session also featured insightful contributions from Mr. Marek Zborowski of the University of Applied Sciences in Poland and Prof. Vera Ferro Lebres, Pro-President of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Portugal, who shared their international perspectives on science and innovation.

The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Partha Pratim Kalita, Convenor of ICSTIP-2025, who expressed sincere gratitude to all guests, delegates, and participants for their essential roles in making the event a success.
