Juan del Val is set to release his new book titled “Ya queda menos” on November 5, following his recent win of the Premio Planeta 2025 award.
Del Val secured the prestigious literary award just a week ago, which comes with a prize of one million euros. This award has sparked considerable debate among critics who question the value and prestige associated with such a large monetary reward for a single author.
Until now, only the jury has had the opportunity to read and evaluate the novel, leaving the public in anticipation as they await its release. On Wednesday, October 22, Del Val shared the cover image of his upcoming book on his official Instagram account, expressing that he remains unfazed by the criticism he has received. “Haters don”t bother me; it actually comforts me,” he stated.
The reaction to his award has been mixed, with some users on social media continuing to assert that the market is not equitable. Del Val addressed these critiques in a recent appearance on “La Roca,” the show hosted by his wife, Nuria Roca. He noted, “Constructive criticism is great, and I take it well,” emphasizing that his fame had no influence on his award win.
Furthermore, during his visit to “El Partidazo de COPE,” Del Val reiterated his stance on the criticism surrounding his literary skill, making it clear that he does not take the negative remarks to heart.
