New Book “Plant Your Seed of Triumph” Inspires Puerto Rican Youth in STEM

Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) has announced the release of a new publication titled “Plant Your Seed of Triumph,” aimed at motivating a new generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The book is co-authored by doctors Greetchen Díaz Muñoz, Liz Hernández Matías, and Abniel Machín de Jesús, and features educational content combined with practical exercises tailored for seventh to ninth-grade students as part of the Semillas de Triunfo program, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

According to a press release, the publication consists of ten chapters designed to familiarize readers with the STEM field, introduce role models, and enhance leadership skills. Spanning 128 pages, the book includes activities that allow youth to explore their interests in various disciplines and learn about different career paths. Additionally, these activities encourage young individuals to identify their emotions, communicate effectively, and develop community projects—crucial skills for emerging leaders.

“”Plant Your Seed of Triumph” is a publication sown with purpose, ready to bloom in the minds and hearts of a new generation. By discovering their superpowers, there will be no limits to what they can imagine and achieve,” stated Díaz Muñoz, founder of Semillas de Triunfo and executive director of CienciaPR.

The book also provides access to various resources developed by CienciaPR, including online talks for career exploration and the Collection of Latinas in STEM. Young readers can draw inspiration from the stories and experiences of 40 Semillas de Triunfo alumni, who share how they discovered their passion for science, faced challenges with determination, and utilized their knowledge to make a difference in their communities. Other alumni contribute to the publication through original art related to STEM.

Currently, the book is available through Amazon and will soon be accessible in bookstores and other retail outlets.
