The second convocation ceremony of Patanjali University took place with President Droupadi Murmu serving as the chief guest, where she awarded degrees to graduates. During her address, she conveyed her delight that 64 percent of the gold medals presented this year were awarded to female students.
President Murmu stated, “It is these daughters of ours who are enhancing India”s pride and will play an important role in building a developed India.” She urged the graduates to build their lives on the principles of perseverance, simplicity, and a strong sense of duty, encouraging them to work diligently like Bhagirath for the betterment of society and the nation.
She also acknowledged the university”s efforts to uphold the legacy of Maharishi Patanjali in the realms of yoga, Ayurveda, and spirituality.
Governor Recognizes Patanjali”s Impact
In his remarks, Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmit Singh praised the university”s significant contributions to yoga and Ayurveda, describing them as unparalleled. He noted, “Through yoga and Ayurveda, Patanjali has brought about a new revolution in the field of health.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also addressed the attendees, highlighting the important role that Patanjali University students will play in realizing the vision of a superior Uttarakhand. He reaffirmed the state government”s dedication to the new education policy, aiming to position Uttarakhand as a leader in research, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
Baba Ramdev”s Vision for Graduates
Baba Ramdev, the Chancellor of Patanjali University and a prominent yoga guru, emphasized that every student from the institution is a “job creator” rather than a “job seeker.” He remarked that the education imparted at Patanjali is based on ancient Sanatan principles, transcending caste and religion. The university seeks not just to educate individuals but to cultivate a self-reliant society characterized by strong moral values.
Patanjali”s Aspirations for Global Recognition
During the ceremony, Acharya Balkrishna, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, announced that Patanjali University has achieved an A+ grade with a score of 3.48 from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He expressed aspirations for the university to be recognized among the world”s top educational institutions.
A total of 1,424 students received degrees during the event, which included 54 gold medallists and 62 PhD scholars.
