Resource Fair for Federal Employees Scheduled in Lawton, Oklahoma

The City of Lawton, Oklahoma, is collaborating with the Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA) to organize a Resource Fair aimed at supporting federal government civilian employees. The event is set to take place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FISTA, located at 200 SW C.

Caitlin Gatlin, the Communications and Marketing Manager, noted that the Resource Fair”s occurrence depends on the status of the current furlough. “This Resource Fair is contingent upon the continuation of the furlough. In other words, if the furlough ends, we will not proceed with the event, but we stand ready to help just in case,” Gatlin explained.

As federal employees face uncertainty during these times, the Resource Fair aims to provide vital information and access to resources that can assist them. Lawton”s initiative represents a proactive approach to supporting its residents who serve in various federal capacities.

The collaboration between the city and FISTA underscores the importance of community support during challenging periods for government workers. Attendees can expect to find a range of resources designed to aid them in navigating the complexities associated with federal employment and potential furlough scenarios.
