Recently, Hailey was asked about the sales of Selena Gomez“s beauty line, Rare Beauty, at Sephora, where her own brand, Rhode, is also sold. In her response, she stated, “It does not affect my life at all.” While she did not mention Gomez directly, her remark could easily be interpreted as a veiled jab at her.
Hailey further elaborated, “It is always annoying when I am compared to other people. I did not ask for it.” This comment seemed to serve as another indirect reference to her husband”s ex-girlfriend. She also added, “When people want to see you in a specific way and have constructed a narrative about you in their minds, it is not your responsibility to change it.”
Following this exchange, representatives for both individuals clarified to PageSix that none of their comments were aimed directly at one another. Although Selena Gomez was not questioned about Hailey”s remarks, she took to Instagram to address the situation. In her post, she stated, “It does not affect my life at all. It is about relevance, not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me. There is room for everyone,” which she shared against a black background.
