The Macallan is set to host the Decoding Madrid Week at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid, showcasing a blend of high gastronomy, mixology, music, and unforgettable sensory experiences. Known globally for its exceptional malt whiskies, The Macallan has revamped its permanent collections, Double Cask and Sherry Oak, introducing a striking new visual identity designed by acclaimed artist David Carson. This redesign harmoniously merges the brand”s rich heritage and craftsmanship with a contemporary vision while preserving the essence of the iconic spirits.
From November 17 to 23, the historic Mandarin Oriental Ritz will serve as the backdrop for a multisensory experience dedicated to the art of fine Scotch whisky. This event promises to engage all senses through exquisite dining, mixology, and olfactory tastings, inviting whisky enthusiasts to explore The Macallan”s universe like never before. Attendees will be guided by brand ambassadors who will share the secrets behind each drop of this legendary whisky during tastings, trilogies of flavors, a new cocktail menu, DJ sessions, and aroma workshops.
The highlight of the week will be the exclusive “Legacy Menu” at the two Michelin-starred restaurant Deessa, crafted by renowned chef Quique DaCosta. This culinary journey integrates Mediterranean influences, luxury Spanish ingredients, and the Scottish Highlands” traditions, reflecting the essence of The Macallan”s Sherry cask spirit. The menu, comprising eight courses, will pair with celebrated whiskies such as Double Cask 12, 15, and 18 and Sherry Oak 12 and 18, creating an unparalleled gastronomic challenge that tells the story of each dish and drink.
The “Legacy Menu,” available for €470, can be reserved exclusively online through Deessa”s website or via email.
In addition to the menu, the week will feature tastings of The Macallan”s most iconic expressions, aroma workshops led by artisans from Eleven People, and signature mixology curated by the team at Pictura, the hotel”s most inviting venue. Throughout the week, various rooms at the Ritz will transform into a temporary club where the ambiance is driven by the world”s finest whisky. Pictura will welcome guests daily from 5 PM to 1 AM, no reservations necessary, providing the perfect setting to experience this celebration.
Guests can enjoy limited-edition selections of The Macallan in their suites, enhancing the exclusivity of their stay and allowing them to indulge in a unique experience privately. This initiative reflects The Macallan”s commitment to luxury that transcends mere visibility, focusing instead on the sensations it evokes.
The Macallan Decoding Madrid Week marks a significant milestone in the brand”s evolution, unveiling its new visual universe and reimagined identity for its timeless collections, Double Cask and Sherry Oak. The brand continues to innovate with its new theme, “You Know Me So Well,” which accompanies the redesign of its iconic offerings. This fresh approach highlights the connection with the River Spey in Scotland, the city of Jerez, and the historic partnership with Valdespino, one of Spain”s oldest wineries. “We invite whisky lovers in Spain to see The Macallan from a new perspective, encouraging them to rediscover the brand through a more personal lens,” states Conchi Serrano, Brand Manager for The Macallan in Spain. Through Decoding Madrid Week, The Macallan illustrates that true luxury is found in the experiences it creates, beyond what is merely visible.
