Trump Announces Resumption of U.S. Nuclear Weapons Tests After 33 Years

In a significant announcement, former President Donald Trump stated that the United States will resume nuclear weapons testing after a hiatus of 33 years. This declaration was made in a post on Truth Social late Wednesday.

Trump emphasized that the decision to reinstate testing is a direct response to nuclear programs being developed by other nations. He stated, “because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately.”

According to Trump, the U.S. possesses a larger nuclear arsenal than any other nation, attributing this to efforts made during his first term in office, which included a comprehensive update and renovation of existing weapons.

This move continues an initiative that began under President Barack Obama in 2014, aimed at reinforcing the U.S. nuclear capabilities. Trump also mentioned his intention to significantly increase the stockpile of nuclear weapons.

If it is indeed accurate that the U.S. nuclear arsenal has surpassed that of Russia, it suggests a dramatic shift in the balance of power, though Trump indicated that this development occurred without public disclosure.
