Trump Claims Role in Thailand-Cambodia Peace Agreement

Donald Trump reemerged in the spotlight following the signing of a peace agreement between Thailand and Cambodia. This pact, finalized in Kuala Lumpur during the ASEAN summit, aims to resolve ongoing border tensions between the two nations.

During the ceremony, Trump expressed surprise at the amicable relations formed between the two countries. “I am not used to seeing countries getting along so well,” he stated, highlighting what he perceives as a significant diplomatic achievement.

The former president did not hesitate to take credit for the resolution of the conflict, asserting that his involvement was pivotal in bringing about this agreement. The terms of the pact include joint control over information dissemination and the promotion of mutual trust-building measures between Thailand and Cambodia.

In addition to the peace agreement, Trump also met with Lula, the president of Brazil, during his visit to Malaysia. Lula described their conversation as productive and emphasized the positive nature of their discussions. Following their meeting, Trump expressed optimism about the potential for future agreements, stating, “I believe we can achieve very good agreements.”

The Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, confirmed that while no specific agreements were reached in their discussions, the dialogue was constructive and paved the way for further cooperation.
