The Women”s Tennis Association (WTA) is celebrating the intersection of style and global culture with the release of iconic portraits featuring the top players ahead of the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh, presented by PIF. These portraits, unveiled today, emphasize how tennis and fashion contribute to the sport”s cultural appeal and global growth.
In the spirit of the WTA”s innovative legacy, this year”s portraits reflect the power and individuality of the female tennis superstars transforming not just their sport, but also cultural landscapes. Players showcased include Coco Gauff in a custom design by Miu Miu, Jasmine Paolini dressed in Brunello Cucinelli, Aryna Sabalenka in Alberta Ferretti, Iga Swiatek in a tailored outfit from Lurline, a Saudi brand co-founded by sisters Sarah and Siham Albinali, and Taylor Townsend in Hervé Léger, among others.
Gauff, the reigning singles champion, expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “It was great to see everyone dressed in different styles, and it”s always fun to get dressed up. We spend the whole year moving from tournament to tournament in sportswear. This was a chance to showcase our personality and style, and to be seen in a different light.”
The official portraits were captured by award-winning Yemeni-Egyptian-American photographer Yumna Al-Arashi at Bab AlSaad, a cultural center in the historic district of Diriyah. Creative direction and styling for the shoot were managed by SJS Studios based in New York. Each portrait features the eight top-ranked singles players and doubles teams globally.
Over the next eight days, these athletes will compete for a record prize pool of 15.5 million dollars, with the undefeated singles champion set to receive an unprecedented 5.235 million dollars, marking the highest payout in women”s sports history. The singles champion will be awarded the Billie Jean King Trophy, while the winning doubles team will receive the Martina Navratilova Trophy. The competition kicks off on November 1 at the King Saud University Sports Arena, running until November 8.
