Mount Hayes, a towering 8,000-foot peak in Alaska, has become a focal point for conspiracy theories surrounding the existence of an alien base within its rugged terrain. This mountain, part of Alaska”s frozen wilderness, has intrigued countless UFO enthusiasts and online investigators who believe it may house a hidden extraterrestrial facility.
The fascination with Mount Hayes has grown to the extent that Apple TV produced a limited series titled “The Secrets of Mount Hayes,” highlighting these peculiar claims. Additionally, a brief documentary named “Searching for UFOs Beneath Mount Hayes” was aired on the Travel Channel, further feeding the narrative.
A teaser for the Apple TV series features an interview with Jonny Enoch, a self-identified paranormal researcher, who states, “In my opinion there are unpredictable, dangerous forces at work here.” This assertion aligns with reports of unidentified flying objects spotted in the vicinity, particularly during the 1970s and 80s.
The roots of these theories trace back to historical files from the CIA, which suggested that aliens might have secret installations on Earth, including beneath oceans and within remote mountain ranges. Some of these documents were allegedly released under the US Freedom of Information Act and identified Mount Hayes as one of several locations potentially linked to extraterrestrial activities.
Among the files, one document described the mountain as a “primary base” utilized by aliens, alongside other notable sites like Monte Perdido in Spain and submerged areas near Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. Eyewitness accounts from that era document strange aircraft exhibiting unusual flight patterns, contributing to the mountain”s reputation as a UFO hotspot.
During this time, the CIA was also involved in the STARGATE project, which sought to explore psychic phenomena, including the ability to gather intelligence remotely. One individual involved in these operations claimed to have observed a being with a “very large, round-shaped head” and a “very unhuman appearance” near Mount Hayes. This description included details of the entity being “very pale” and having a “sharp nose.” However, there is no recorded evidence that this person underwent drug testing.
Despite the seemingly far-fetched nature of these claims, they continue to captivate UFO enthusiasts worldwide. A recent clip from the verified History Channel, which has 14.5 million followers, featured a segment titled “CIA Analyst Discovers UFO Base in Alaska,” attracting over 610,000 views. Another video questioning whether Mount Hayes holds secrets related to numerous disappearances has also gained significant attention with 123,000 views.
