AI Transforming Education Towards Inclusivity and Efficiency

Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a pivotal element for enhancing inclusivity and efficiency in education, as highlighted by Alexander Michael, the Global ICT Practice Leader at Frost & Sullivan. During his presentation at the Huawei Smart Education Forum held at GITEX Global 2025, he emphasized the transformative potential of AI in educational settings.

Michael articulated that AI could shift learning from traditional, rigid frameworks to more personalized and dynamic approaches. The forum, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, convened a diverse group of educators, policymakers, and technology experts who explored the role of digital technologies in improving teaching quality and promoting inclusivity within schools and universities.

Peter Zhang, Vice President of Global Public Business at Huawei, initiated the forum by discussing the company”s initiatives in education. He outlined efforts to develop comprehensive knowledge platforms for primary and secondary education, while also advocating for AI literacy among students. Zhang stressed the importance of cultivating future AI talent from an early stage, aiming to create digital learning environments that enhance both knowledge acquisition and skill development.

Michael also pointed out that intelligent tutoring systems represent one of the most compelling applications of AI in education. These systems can provide each student with a personalized learning experience that would be impractical to achieve with human tutors on a large scale. He noted that AI tutors are capable of evaluating student performance instantaneously, identifying learning gaps, and adjusting lesson plans in real-time, rather than waiting for the academic year”s conclusion.

Moreover, AI technologies are alleviating some of the pressures faced by educators. Research conducted by Frost & Sullivan indicates that teachers utilizing automated assessment software save an average of 13.2 hours weekly. This time savings can be redirected towards enhancing teaching methods and increasing student engagement, thereby enriching the overall educational experience.
